What is temple receipt software?

Temple receipt software replaces the paper receipt book at a temple counter. Netra issues a numbered, immutable receipt for every puja, seva, donation and darshan ticket — at the counter, on a phone, on the temple website or at a kiosk — with separate series by module, channel and Indian financial year. Each receipt carries a QR code that the gate or prasad counter scans, and corrections are recorded, never overwritten.

  • Immutable receipts

No duplicate numbers; corrections and reprints logged

  • QR verification

Gate entry and prasad hand-over, counted per person

  • Tithi & nakshatra dates

Shashvat Seva from your temple’s own Panchang

  • 7 Indian languages

Each operator works in their own language

Counter

The temple office screen. Three lanes — puja/seva, donation and darshan ticket — over one checkout dock, so a family’s whole visit goes on one receipt. Designed to feel calm and obvious to operators over 50.

Three-lane booking screen

Choose the booking type and deity, pick offerings from a searchable catalogue, then collect — without leaving the screen.

Every way devotees pay

Cash, cheque (with a 6-digit cheque-number check), NEFT, recorded UPI, POS card or UPI, payment link, or pay later.

Token numbers

Issue queue tokens for selected pujas, sevas and darshan tickets.

Limits and cut-off times

Daily booking limits per channel or one shared total, and booking cut-off times for the counter and kiosk.

Booking tabs per counter

Show or hide the Puja, Donation and Ticket tabs counter by counter — a ticket window sells only tickets.

General devotee switch

At peak hours, book without taking devotee details; the switch stays on until the operator turns it off.

Free-of-cost bookings and donations in kind

Record free sevas and donated goods alongside cash, with an acknowledgement through Inventory.

Each counter sees its own money

Counter operators see only their own counter’s bookings and collections.

Receipts & QR verification

The receipt is the record. It cannot be edited or deleted, its number is never reused, and its QR code is what the gate and the prasad (blessed food) counter scan.

Immutable, gap-explained numbering

Separate series by module, channel and Indian financial year. Numbers are issued atomically, so two counters never print the same one.

Blocking a wrong receipt

Block a test, duplicate or wrong entry with a reason category; the number stays used and the amount leaves every total.

Controlled reprints

Every print after the first needs a typed reason and is logged with who printed it and when.

QR on every receipt

A unique QR plus a 20-character code for manual entry. A public page shows only Valid, Already entered, Payment pending or Blocked — never names or amounts.

Gate entry and prasad hand-over

Staff with the scanner right mark entry and prasad per person: a receipt for three admits three, and says “2 of 3 entered” in between.

80G text on receipts

Print your trust’s 80G registration number and wording. Netra does not file Form 10BD. See 80G for temples.

Prints on what you have

A4, A5, A6 or 58/80 mm thermal paper. A free desktop print agent prints silently, in one click.

Seva, puja & darshan tickets

The temple calendar, as the temple keeps it. Perpetual sevas fall on the right tithi (lunar day) or nakshatra (birth star), and darshan tickets never oversell a slot.

Shashvat Seva

Perpetual yearly pujas booked once and scheduled every year on a tithi or nakshatra, from your temple’s own uploaded Panchang (Hindu almanac).

Import the paper register

Bring your existing Shashvat Seva register in once; Netra carries it forward each year.

Your own Panchang names

Keep the temple’s spelling of masas, pakshas, tithis and nakshatras — “Pausha” or “Thai”, “Shravana” or “Thiruvonam”.

Recurring puja schedules

Book a puja daily, weekly or on a monthly date between two dates, with a preview of every date it will fall on.

Darshan-ticket slots

Up to 48 time slots per ticket type with head-count capacity; a full slot cannot be sold.

Included laddu or vastram

Items included with a ticket print on the receipt at ₹0 and are handed over against the QR.

Unavailable dates

Close a seva for a date range with a reason — procession, cleaning, festival — and the counter, kiosk and website refuse it.

Puja timings and website deadlines

Set when each puja happens and how late the website can still take a booking for it.

Devotee register

A devotee database that remembers what a temple needs to remember — gotra (lineage), nakshatra, rashi and the name a puja is offered in memory of.

37 configurable fields

Including gotra, nakshatra, rashi and “in memory of”. Choose which fields each module and channel asks for.

Lookup and history at the counter

Find a devotee by mobile number or name and see past bookings and donations before you print.

Import from Excel or CSV

Bring your existing devotee list and past transactions; records are checked before they are saved.

Encrypted PAN and Aadhaar

Both are optional fields and are stored encrypted.

One register across a trust

Organisations of the same trust can share one devotee master. See multi-temple trusts.

Devotee sign-in online

Devotees sign in to the temple website with an OTP and see their own bookings and receipts.

Collection mobile app

The counter on a phone or tablet — for utsav (festival) stalls, a second queue, or door-to-door collection. It writes to the same ledger and reports as the office.

Installs from the browser

Add it to the home screen on Android phones, iPhones and tablets — no app store needed.

Stays signed in

A long-session mobile sign-in, so volunteers are not logging in at every stall.

Same payment modes as the counter

Cash, cheque, NEFT, a UPI QR on screen, a payment link or a POS machine.

Doubles as the gate scanner

Scan receipt QRs with the phone camera to mark entry or prasad hand-over.

Seats as you grow

₹999 a month for the app, plus ₹199 for each extra user.

Reports & settlements

What was collected, by whom and how — and what actually reached the bank. The accounting side is covered in depth on temple accounting in Netra.

Collection reports

By medium, payment mode, account, day, service and donor, with blocked receipts excluded from every total.

Puja date-wise list

Who is booked for which puja on which day — printed for the priests.

Kiosk-wise and ticket slot-wise reports

Collection per kiosk against the counters, and booked, entered and served per darshan slot.

Excel, PDF and CSV

Every report exports; large exports are prepared in the background.

Settlements

Bank reconciliation of cheque, NEFT, POS and gateway deposits, including clearances and fees.

Automatic gateway reconciliation

Gateway payouts are fetched and matched to receipts and to the right bank account.

Tally Manager

Map accounts to Tally ledgers once and export Tally XML vouchers.

Temple website

Your temple’s own booking site, sold as a Netra module. Full details on Netra’s website & kiosk.

Booking tabs

Puja, Donation and Ticket tabs, plus News & updates, About and Contact.

Deity and utsav pages

A landing page per deity or utsav with a “Proceed to booking” button.

Devotees add the website to their home screen with your temple’s name and logo.

Six payment gateways

Razorpay, Cashfree, PayU, Paytm, Worldline and Decentro, with your own encrypted credentials.

POS machines

Razorpay POS, Paytm POS and Worldline POS at the counter.

Inventory

Prasad and seva items hold and issue real stock; donations in kind are acknowledged against it.

Partner API and webhooks

Least-privilege REST API keys and signed outbound webhooks, so an existing temple app can book into Netra.

Split settlement Rolling out

Razorpay Route and Cashfree Easy Split, paying each organisation in its own name.

SMS, WhatsApp and email through Vani Rolling out

Booking confirmations, OTPs and receipts through Vani.

Roles & security

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Something else? Write to [email protected] or book a demo.

What makes a temple receipt trustworthy?

A trustworthy receipt cannot be edited, deleted or duplicated, and every correction leaves a trace. Netra numbers receipts atomically by module, channel and Indian financial year, records blocked receipts with a reason, logs every reprint and lets anyone check a receipt’s status by scanning its QR.

Can one receipt cover a puja, a donation and a darshan ticket?

Yes. The counter has three lanes over one checkout, so a family’s puja, donation and darshan ticket go on one receipt and one payment.

How does Shashvat Seva scheduling work?

You book a perpetual seva once on a tithi or nakshatra, and Netra finds that date every year from the Panchang your temple uploads. You can import your existing paper register in one go.

Can we bring our existing devotee list?

Yes. Import devotees and past transactions from Excel or CSV. Netra checks each record before saving it, and keeps PAN and Aadhaar encrypted if you include them.

Who can scan receipts at the gate?

Anyone you give the verify right — usually a gate scanner role that can do nothing else. They scan the receipt QR with a phone running the collection app and mark entry or prasad for the number of people the receipt covers.

Does Netra handle hundi counting?

No — Netra records receipted collections only. For hundi (offering box) counting, use our free hundi counting sheet and procedure.

Which features cost extra?

Netra is sold in modules: counter and collection app at ₹999 a month each (plus ₹199 per extra seat), website from ₹999 a month and kiosk ₹999 per device, plus GST. SMS, WhatsApp and email are charged per message. See Netra pricing.
