Temple accounting software for settlements and Tally export

Netra tells your accountant what reached the bank, not just what the counter collected — then hands it to Tally as balanced vouchers, so no one re-types a receipt book again.

What is temple accounting software?

Netra’s temple accounting solution covers the income side of a temple’s books: immutable receipts numbered by Indian financial year, reconciliation of cheque, NEFT, POS and payment-gateway deposits — including fees — and Tally XML export through Tally Manager. Your accountant keeps the full books in Tally. Expenses, fund accounting and cash and bank books in Netra are in early access.

Cheque, NEFT, POS and gateway, with fees and taxes

Every voucher balances before it can be downloaded

From the counter to the bank to Tally

Four parts of Netra do the accountant’s work that used to happen in a register and a spreadsheet.

Know which rupee reached which bank, and when

Every non-cash receipt waits in Settlements until it is proven to be in the bank. Office staff record the deposit and the clearance for cheques and NEFT; gateway and POS payouts are fetched from the provider and matched automatically to the right bank account.

  • Four clear queues: Awaiting deposit, Awaiting clearance, Cleared and Needs review
  • Each payment keeps the destination bank it was taken into, even if settings change later
  • Fees and tax on fees are booked as expenses, so income is never counted twice

How it flows

How a receipt reaches Tally

The same path for counter, phone, website and kiosk receipts — and for monthly auto-debit donations.

  1. Receipt issued

The gross amount is recorded once, on the India calendar date, in exact paise. Non-cash receipts are routed to the bank they were paid into.

  2. Settled to the bank

Cheque and NEFT clearances are recorded by the office; gateway and POS payouts are matched automatically, with fees booked separately.

  3. Checked against your ledgers

The preview shows every posting line and ledger total. A missing mapping or an unbalanced voucher blocks the export instead of being skipped.

  4. Imported into Tally

Download the ledger masters, then the vouchers, and import them into your Tally company. Refunds follow on the date they complete.

For the accountant

Built so the CA does not have to re-type the receipt book

Most temples already keep their books in Tally. Netra does not ask you to change that — it feeds Tally with vouchers that already balance and already know which bank the money went to.

  • Accountant and report-viewer roles, separate from counter operators
  • Counter operators never see the Tally Manager or settlements
  • Every Tally export and every reprint is audited

Frequently asked questions

Is Netra complete accounting software for a temple?

Not yet. Netra covers the income side today — receipts, settlements, bank reconciliation and Tally export. Expenses, fund accounting, cash and bank books, TDS/GST and period close are in early access, so most temples keep their full books in Tally and let Netra feed it.

Does Netra work with Tally?

Yes. Tally Manager maps Netra’s accounts to your Tally ledgers once, then exports ledger-master and voucher XML that you import into your Tally company. Read can a temple run on Tally alone? for where Tally fits.

How does bank reconciliation work for payment gateways?

Automatically. Netra fetches the gateway’s settlement reports, matches each payout to the receipts it contains and to the bank you set for that gateway, and books the fee and tax on the fee. Payouts that do not match exactly wait in Needs review; nothing is cleared by guesswork.

What happens when a cheque bounces?

The accountant marks the deposited cheque as bounced, which blocks its receipt with the remark “Cheque bounced” and lists it in the Bounced register. The receipt number stays on record, so the gap is explained.

Does Netra file 80G forms or GST returns?

No. Netra prints your trust’s 80G registration number and wording on receipts; it does not file Form 10BD or produce Form 10BE. Our temple accounting guide explains what the trust still files. For room and hall rent, Kshetra keeps a GST summary.

We also run a dharmashala. Where do room accounts go?

Into Kshetra, our dharmashala (pilgrim guest-house) and hall booking software. It has its own bank and cash accounts, daybook, contra entries, GST summary and Tally export, so room revenue reaches Tally alongside Netra’s receipts.

How much does it cost?

Netra starts at ₹999 a month plus GST, with a three-month free trial and no card. Your quote confirms which modules are included — see Netra pricing or book a demo to walk through settlements with your own bank accounts.
