What is the Inventory app?

Inventory is the Setu app for the stores, kitchen and valuables of a temple or religious trust. It runs procurement from indent to purchase order, goods receipt and three-way-matched invoice, with committee approvals by value slab in which the person who raises a document can never approve it. Stock moves through an append-only ledger that issues the earliest-expiring lot first (FEFO). It also records annadanam kitchen consumption by meal and keeps a jewellery register with weight, purity and two-person custody.

  • Maker never approves

From indent to jewellery register

Everything the temple stores does — with a second signature where it matters

Inventory replaces the indent book, the stock register, the kitchen issue slip and the jewellery ledger. Each tab below is a live part of the product.

Indent to payment request, each step tied to the last

An indent becomes an RFQ or a reverse auction, then a purchase order, a goods receipt (GRN), an invoice and a payment request. Each document is checked against its parent. For the daily local buy, a direct purchase records the vendor’s bill number and a photo of the bill in one step.

  • Reverse auctions keep every bid on record; awarding away from the lowest bid (L1) needs a reason and a second person
  • Vendor KYC with GSTIN, PAN and FSSAI licence; blacklisted vendors cannot be used
  • A vendor’s bill number can be entered only once per financial year

Who uses Inventory

One role for every signature in the stores

Rights are granted one by one and limited to the units a person works in. Temples can add their own roles.

Purchase officer

Raises indents, RFQs, auctions and purchase orders — and can never approve their own.

Storekeeper

Receives goods, issues against approved indents, transfers between stores and raises corrections for someone else to approve.

Kitchen supervisor

Issues a meal’s items on one consumption slip and sees the monthly item-by-day sheet.

Accounts officer

Matches invoices to orders and receipts, raises payment requests and watches budgets.

Trustees & committee

Approve by value slab, see every module’s dashboard and read the audit trail.

For trustees

Auditor

Read-only access to registers, reports and the append-only audit trail.

Plans

Annual plans by users and items

Inventory is sold as an annual plan sized by how many people use it and how many items you stock. Prices are indicative, confirmed on your quote.

Pricing

Annual plans from ₹30,000 a year (indicative)

Plans differ by the number of users and items, from a single temple’s stores to a devasthanam (temple board) with many units. Your quote confirms the final price.

What is temple inventory software?

Temple inventory software replaces the indent book, stock register and jewellery ledger with one system. Inventory records what the temple buys, who approved it, what came into which store, what the kitchen used for each meal and where every valuable is kept — on a ledger that cannot be edited after the fact.

Can Inventory track prasadam and annadanam kitchen stock?

Yes. The kitchen issues each meal’s items on a numbered consumption slip (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner or your own purpose) with people served, and a monthly sheet shows each item by day. Prasadam items booked in Netra hold and issue stock in Inventory, and basic dittam and prasadam production registers are included.

How do committee approvals work?

Trustees set value slabs for each document type, and each slab says how many independent approvers are needed — for example 2 of 3 above ₹1,00,000. Anyone who raised, edited or submitted the document is excluded from approving it, and no slab can switch that rule off.

Does Inventory work with Netra?

Yes. A puja (worship ritual) or seva (paid temple service) booked in Netra holds the items it needs in Inventory, issues them, and returns or releases them if the booking changes. Donations in kind received in Netra are recorded against real stock.

Can Inventory export to Tally?

Not yet — Tally export is on the roadmap. Today every register and report exports to Excel, CSV or PDF. Our temple accounting guide explains how stores records fit into the trust’s books.

Can we keep a temple jewellery register in Inventory?

Yes. Each piece has photos, a QR and Code 128 label, gross and net weight to the milligram, metal, purity, its storage place and set. Precious items move only under two-person custody, and every verification and discrepancy is recorded.

How do we get started?

There is no public sign-up. Book a demo; our team then creates your temple workspace, and you import items, vendors and opening stock from Excel. Opening stock arrives as draft corrections that still need an independent approval.

Security

Built for committee money and temple gold

Separation of duties

Enforced on the server: whoever raises, edits or submits a document can never decide it.

Deny-by-default rights

People get only the rights they are given, only in the units they work in.

Append-only evidence

Stock and audit history are append-only, documents are private, and records are archived with a reason — never deleted.

Put the temple stores on a ledger the committee can trust

Our team creates your workspace, imports your item and vendor lists from Excel and sets approval slabs with your trustees — then you post your first receipt with us.
