What is Darshan?

Darshan is live darshan streaming software for temples. It connects a temple’s CCTV or NVR cameras — up to 10 per temple — to a live page devotees can watch in any browser, and simulcasts the same stream to YouTube, Facebook or any RTMP address. Broadcasts run round the clock or on a weekday schedule for aarti, with bhajan (devotional song) audio and the temple logo on screen. Devotees can also offer a virtual aarti, light a diya or ring the bell. It runs at darshan.swadharmasetu.com.

Darshan is streaming only. Darshan tickets with time slots and head-count limits are sold in Netra — see Netra’s seva and darshan-ticket features.

From camera to every home

What happens between the temple camera and the devotee’s phone

Darshan replaces the streaming PC, the OBS scene and the person who used to press “Go live”. Each tab below is a working part of the product.

Your CCTV cameras, live in the browser

Add a camera from your CCTV system or NVR, preview it, and go live. Darshan transcodes the feed in the cloud so devotees can watch on a phone or laptop browser, at quality from 360p to 4K. Health checks watch every stream; if a feed drops, Darshan restarts it, and streams resume on their own after a restart.

  • Up to 10 cameras per temple, depending on plan
  • Camera preview before you publish
  • Recordings saved to cloud storage, with limits and automatic cleanup

What is live darshan streaming?

Live darshan streaming lets devotees watch the deity and the temple’s rituals live from home. Darshan takes a temple’s existing CCTV or NVR cameras live on the temple’s own page, YouTube and Facebook, round the clock or on a schedule for aarti.

Do we need a streaming PC or OBS?

No. Darshan takes the camera feed and transcodes it in the cloud, so there is no streaming PC or OBS to keep running at the temple. If a feed drops, Darshan restarts it automatically.

How do we live-stream our temple on YouTube?

Connect your YouTube channel as a destination in Darshan and choose the camera. The same stream can go to Facebook and your temple’s own page at the same time. Our guide on live-streaming darshan from temple cameras walks through it step by step.

Does Darshan sell darshan tickets or time slots?

No. Darshan is for live streaming only. Darshan tickets with time slots and head-count limits are sold in Netra — see seva and darshan-ticket features.

How many cameras can we stream?

Up to 10 per temple. Basic covers 1 camera, Standard 3, Premium 5 and Enterprise 10.

What is virtual darshan?

Virtual darshan is the interactive page for each temple, where devotees offer aarti, light a diya, offer flowers, ring the bell or blow the conch. Offerings earn punya points, shown on a public leaderboard.

Does Darshan take donations or have live chat?

No. Darshan is for streaming and virtual darshan. For online donations, use Netra’s website & kiosk.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. There is a 14-day free trial on one camera. Create an account or book a demo to see your own camera live.
